The Board of UKSpill invites each company to take part in the 2018 Annual Awards. As in previous years, we are inviting nominations in the following categories – Individual Responder, Corporate Responder, Manufacturer/Services. This year we are also inviting nominations for Innovation in the Spill Industry. The aim of the Awards is to encourage recognition of outstanding work in the oil spill industry, by individuals, and member companies over the last 12 months.

Nominations for the 2018 awards should be submitted to info@ukspill.org by 30 September 2018. An independent jury will decide and the winners will be announced at the 2018 Annual Dinner in London on 25 October.

7 NOVEMBER 2018 - INLANDSPILL SEMINAR AT THE FIRE SERVICE COLLEGE

The next Inlandspill Seminar will be held at the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh, on 7 Novemebr 2018. The programme will include a variety of speakers on Stakeholder management, Mapping, Drones, and Magic Powders. NEWS ABOUT ACCREDITATION – INTERNATIONAL SPILL ACCREDITATION SCHEME (ISAS) FORMED

UKSpill and the ISAA have signed an agreement in July to work together in future as the International Spill Accreditation Scheme, initially bidding to be approved by the UK Maritime & Ciastguarad Agency (MCA) to be an approved accrediting body for the new Marine Standard. The MCA plan to implement this standard in September. The new ISAS group is chaired by David Salt, former chairman of UKSpill, with Mark Orr , co chair of UKSpill and John Dawes, Director of ISAA.
